Understanding Yoga...Patanjali's Yoga Sutras...What are they?

We're living in a time with so much information available to us! You have a question just google it and you'll have pages and pages of different info. You can consume that information in any way you choose to now... audio, written, video etc

But what are we doing with this information? and how is it influencing our reality?

When I look at how yoga is being depicted today and how people are engaging or choosing not to engage with yoga because of what they see in popular culture it makes me realise just how important it is that we have discussions around what yoga has to offer us. Where we can choose to take it for our own benefit and if we are yoga teachers where we chose to take it for our students and everyone we come into contact with.

It's is always ultimately our choice as to whether we part take in all yoga has to offer or not. For some it is simply exercise and for others it's much more than that.

This is the first recording of several that I'll post up on the blog originally it was exclusively for my teachers in training but if you're practicing yoga regularly and are curious enough to want to know more you may find these recordings useful.

If you've wondered about yoga as a practice to develop more self awareness and insight then you want to familiarise yourself with some of the major texts yoga has to offer us.

One being Patanjali's yoga sutras.

This initial recording is simply here to briefly introduce you to this text and why it's applicable to practitioners today.

In following recordings we'll dive into components of the text itself.

I apologise to all of you; both who come into classes and those listening to this recording I never quiet realised just how annoying my voice can be to listen to : D LOL.
